Judy is a contemporary artist who is pushing the boundaries and exploring new ideas. Four major themes are part of her practice: paddle steamers (Echuca & Brewarrina); yacht painting; Sydney themes; and Tasmanian landscapes with the Cradle
Mt series completed in 2018 (“and the people will come”).
She graduated from City Art Institute in Sydney as an art teacher & then completed a M.A. in painting in 2007 from the College of Fine Art N.S.W. University. She is comfortable
in many mediums: photography; lino printing; ceramics; painting and drawing. But her great love is painting, thick paint and splashes of colour.Known for her yacht paintings she has now discovered Cradle Mt & the Tarkine in Tasmania.
In 2018 Judy had an exhibition “and the People will come” at Cradle Mt Wilderness Gallery based on the story of Gustav and Kate Waldheim. These paintings depict not only the story of Kate and Gustav which is a powerful love story & the history
of Cradle Mt, but also how Gustav lobbied the Tasmanian Government during the early 1900’s to build a road to Cradle Mt and then to make it a National Park. Two significant paintings are described below
