Persistence humor art, community family, and domestic life are important in Judy’s life and art practice. Residing in Tasmania Judy did a tree change from Sydney in 2015. Born in Sydney’s leafy suburbs of Rose Bay where she was inspired
by the water, colour , light and cityscapes. She completed an Education degree and then an M. An in painting at College of fine art in 2007 she was a visual art teacher in Sydney, regional and remote High Schools.
Her love of family, water, nature and
landscapes drew her to Tasmania where she settled in the Huon Valley. Judy’s studio is reminiscent of Margaret Oley’s world as it is filled with art books, garlic, curios, teapots and a sculpture made of car parts. Looking towards the
Channel, the studio has many artworks such as ceramics, photographs of cotton fields in Northern N.S.W, large yacht paintings in acrylic and small lino prints of interiors, all produced by Judy.
